and R W Bro Maurice Lee at a ceremony in St John's ML No 334 Omagh

The lasting contribution of R W Bro John Hadden M.B.E. to Freemasonry was celebrated in his mother lodge, St John's ML 334, Omagh, on Thursday 11 December 2014 when he was presented with his 50 year jewel. Following tributes from brethren of the Lodge who had served with him for much of that period R W Bro John was presented with his jewel by R W Bro Leslie Nixon, Assistant Grand Master and with his certificate by R W Bro Maurice Lee, Provincial Grand Master, PGL Tyrone and Fermanagh. Showing that the years had in no sense dulled his memory or dimmed his wit Brother John responded to the salutations of the brethren by recounting humorous episodes from his early days in masonry. His address to the brethren was one of enlightenment and encouragement, qualities which have marked his journey through different branches of the order and gained him the respect and esteem of masons throughout Ireland.
