A successful "Visitors Night" for charity at Newtownstewart Royal Arch Chapter No 547 raised £460.00 half of which was donated to the Western Health and Social Care Trust's Palliative Care Fund at the Tyrone County Hospital; the other half was forwarded to "Adventure Consultants - Sherpa Future Fund" for the benefit of widows and orphans of Sherpas who lost their lives as a result of the Nepal Earthquake earlier this year. The latter donation was prompted by the fact that the son of Rt Ex Companion Bob Smith, RAC 547, was climbing on Mt Everest when the Earthquake struck but thankfully survived.

Unfortunately some of the Sherpas supporting his team were not so fortunate. It is pleasing to think that the charitable efforts of Freemasons in Ireland is assisting needy widows and orphans thousands of miles away.
